The original “Brain” drawing was created in 2014 with Prismacolor markers on Rives BFK paper measuring 29″ x 41″ Original drawing available here. About this piece: This is the third (and largest) swirl drawing I did.  I was influenced to play with this color scheme by the late artist out of L.A., Tina St. Claire.  I really wanted to explore color and shading with this style on a large scale, as well as to see the effect all of the details create.  I chose to use the image of a brain because I liked the winding, twisting components and thought it would work well with my swirly doodles.

About this piece: "Meowlin' Forever" is a digital painting based off of a photo of my cat Lola prowling the roof of our house during a full moon in Austin, TX back in 2017.  She is a fierce force of nature that owns the night and I felt compelled to capture it.

About this piece: A friend snapped this shot on the Colorado River west of Austin.  In the background is the 360 bridge, an iconic and instantly recognizable architectural piece of Austin.  I wanted to capture the feeling of a moment of rest and admiration, the kayaker basking in the glow of the setting sun.

About this piece: Almost every October I camp for a couple of days in one of my favorite spots near Austin.  The weather is just starting to cool down enough for a fire at night, yet the sunshine during the day is warm and bright and you can spend the afternoon swimming in the waterfalls.  It’s really peaceful and helps me hit the reset button and get out of the city.  This particular evening in October 2017 was incredibly beautiful and I made one of the best meals I’ve ever cooked.  I wanted to immortalize the memory in this drawing based off of a picture taken with a Fujifilm Instax8.

About this piece: There's a state park a couple of hours away that is my absolute favorite.  I spend as much time there as possible in the same spot, watching the sunrise over these hills every morning.  I swim in the springs nearby, go on all the amazing hikes, string up my hammock and read into the night.  It's the place where I am happiest and most relaxed.

About this piece: My favorite place/thing about Austin is Barton Springs Pool - an all natural, gorgeous swimming pool that stays ice cold all year round.  Part of my morning routine during the warm months is to come here for a dip after a long sunrise bike ride.  My day is not the same if it doesn't begin like this and I wanted to capture how beautiful that experience is.

About this piece: This drawing was created based off of a reference photo from my favorite camping spot.  I was wide awake before dawn and decided to make a fire before breakfast.  It was a beautiful, clear night and as I sat getting lost in the dancing flames, the sun began to slowly rise over the hills.  It was one of those sunrises that hooked me on waking at dawn each day.

About this piece: I went to Inks Lake in March 2018 with a friend to hike, kayak and camp for a few days.  The weather was absolutely gorgeous all 4 days, I got to kayak all over, and I have NEVER seen so many bluebonnets in my life.  This scene captures a break in our afternoon of kayaking. We pulled up on this flat, rocky bank that was the base of a hill covered in wildflowers.  We hiked up the hill to get a great view from the top and when I made my way back down I captured this shot of my adventure vessel for the day.  It was all so beautiful.
