c. 2023 Liquitex acrylic paint on 3/4" birch, finished with Liquitex glossy varnish About this piece: This painting was created from a photo taken in August 2020 on one of my favorite hikes near the North Cascades.  There were gorgeous wildflowers the entire way up but it wasn't until I was descending that I was able to really take in the glory of the landscape and I snapped this photo.  Fireweed holds a special place in my heart and I just knew I had to paint it.

Baker Lake

c. 2022 Liquitex acrylic paint on 3/4" birch, finished with Liquitex glossy varnish About this piece: One of my absolute favorite things about summer is getting out for some afternoon kayaking or a weekend of camping at Baker Lake.  This painting was created from a photo taken in June 2021 on one of my first ventures out onto the lake after getting my first kayak.  There's nothing like that bright turquoise water set against the backdrop of gorgeous Mount Baker.
